Cedar Mesa

Cedar Mesa

In a forgotten corner of Utah, between the towns of Bluff and Blanding, Cedar Mesa is a riddle of canyons, moss-draped oases and sandstone spires. In the southeastern region of Utah, Cedar Mesa and Grand Gulch Plateau are home to some of the best backcountry locations to find rock art and ancient ruins left by the Ancestral Puebloans (also known as the Anasazi) who thrived in the Four Corners area about a thousand years ago.

Cedar Mesa includes areas like Valley of the Gods,¬†Muley and Cedar Points, and a part of the San Juan River called the Goosenecks. The west side of Cedar Mesa includes large canyons, like John’s and Slickhorn Canyons. In the northwest area of Cedar Mesa one can find Natural Bridges National Monument and Stimper Arch.
